Fall Dialogue Day

The Role and Vitality of Fair Elections to a Functioning Democracy

10/30/20

On October 30th, CSJ held a discussion event featuring New York Assemblywoman Latrice Walker and Government Affairs and Labor Professional Tara Martin. It also featured an extremely comprehensive overview of voting rights in the United States by CSJ Vice President Heidi Simpson.

The event reflected on the development of election law and the legacy of voter suppression in the United States.  We also focused on the legal challenges that we face today.

Our Bi-Annual St. John's Dialogue Day was excellent. This year, we discussed the humanitarian crisis at Riker's Island and heard from an incredible panel of de-carceration activists and public defenders: Darren Mack, Olayemi Olurin, King Downing, and Marty LaFalce. Check out the recording!
